Funding
From the term after your child turns 9 months old, you may be eligible for 30 hours of funding per week for 38 weeks of the year. Please go to beststartinlife.gov.uk to find out whether you are eligible. All additional hours will be charged at £9.50/hour for our under 2s and 2 year olds and £8.50/hour for our 3 & 4 year olds. All 3 & 4 year olds are eligible for 15 hours of funding per week for 38 weeks of the year.
Extra Services Charge
The funding provided by the Government is designed to cover just the basic Early Years Foundation Stage. At The Colourwheel, we pride ourselves on offering much more than that. With this in mind, we have a voluntary charge of £2.15/funded hour so that we can offer your child that little bit extra. These include:
- All food cooked by our in-house chef, which meets the new DFE guidance on nutrition for Early Years children
- Forest school sessions, including outdoor clothing
- Montessori curriculum, delivered by our Montessori-trained staff
- French lessons
- Mini mindfulness sessions
- Access to the online platform Blossom, where photos and observations are made available for you to see
- A lending library for books
- Speech and Language interventions where necessary from our ELKLAN and Well Com-trained staff
- Occasional trips out from nursery
- Invitation to take part and welcome family members to view our Christmas Play at Black Notley Community Association Hall
- Invitation to take part in our Graduation ceremonies and parties
- Opportunities to take part in the many festivals we celebrate throughout the year, and to learn from the relevant guests we welcome into the setting to share their knowledge
The charge allows us to remain sustainable, but if you feel you can not pay this, please come and speak with us.
